FRANKENMUTH, MI — Do you have good penmanship and love listening to Christmas music year round? If so, Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland might have a job for you.
The self-described world’s largest Christmas store is hosting an ornament-lettering employment open house Wednesday, June 19, to recruit and train prospective “penners” to personalize ornaments.
Officials aim to hire about 20 part-time, seasonal penners to start in July. Applicants must be available to work through Dec. 31. The starting pay is $10 per hour most days, $15 per hour on Saturday nights and $15 per hour on Sundays.
Bronner’s staff personalize 400,000 ornaments annually, according to the company’s website.
The recruitment event takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 19 at Bronner’s, 25 Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth. Those attending should use the store’s south entrance and walk to the program center in section 2.
Attendees will have the opportunity to watch ornament-lettering demonstrations, participate in one-on-one training, apply for a job, and take materials home to practice before possibly being invited for an interview. All materials are provided and due back in one week. Interviews are to be scheduled after practice ornaments are returned and inspected, according to a Bronner’s news release.

Bronner’s, a Frankenmuth icon, was founded in 1945 by Wally Bronner. Company officials say it is the world’s largest year-round Christmas store, covering 2.2 acres of land on the company’s 27-acre site.
The store features more than 50,000 trims and gifts, including more than 250 styles of Nativity scenes and “Merry Christmas” ornaments in more than 40 languages.
